DraftKings finds a home in the PA online sports betting market via a partnership “The Meadows”, a Penn National owned casino in Washington County, Pennsylvania.
What Does This Mean For PA Sports Betting?
With FanDuel Sportsbook now live in Pennsylvania, DraftKings has a familar foe in the battle for sports bettors. Competition is always good for the consumer, creating better prices with more markets and additional bonus options for new players.
All signs point to DraftKings Sportsbook mobile app launching before the football season on iOS and Android. The only obstacle at this point for DraftKings is waiting for the approval of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, which should be very soon.
PA Sportsbook Advertising Wars
Pennsylvania residents are in for a major ad campaign this fall whether they like or or not. We all remember in 2015 when DraftKings and FanDuel were at war, looking to be the top name in Daily Fantasy Sports. FanDuel on the radio, DraftKings on TV, FanDuel on TV, banners, billboards. Everywhere!
Get ready for 2.0 version we like to call the “Sportsbook Wars”. This battle will feature quite a few competitors in PA.
FanDuel Sportsbook is one of the most recognizable brands in digital media and sports, and they have a full iOS app live in the state.
SugarHouse Sportsbook in PA is already live, and a recognized brand. They do not have App Store access, but there is a workaround.
BetRivers Sportsbook is another Rush Street Interactive sportsbook, but can only be accessed with iPhone or iPad’s via the Geo-Comply app similar to SugarHouse.
FoxBet is set to launch in PA before the football season. With the incredible popularity of the NFL, Fox Sports will provide a huge advantage to Fox Bet in PA and other regulated sports betting states.
Competition is good, so be sure to keep an eye on the prices at each book when betting, keep an eye out for boosted odds, and more!
