PSU vs. Pitt Game Preview
Currently, the Penn State Nittany Lions are 17 point favorites over Pittsburgh, so that is certainly who you should bet on for the FanDuel Sportsbook PITT/PSU moneyline promo.
Kickoff: 12:00 PM EST
Beaver Stadium
TV: ABC
Odds: PSU -17, Total 53
Penn State is 2-0 after two easy victories to begin the season against Idaho (79-7) and Buffalo (45-13).
In the early going, Penn State has five players that have scored a rushing touchdown. QB Sean Clifford currently leads the Nittany Lions in rushing with 108 yards, and of course passing with 559 yards and six scores. Expect the Nittany Lions to ride on his arm and legs again against Pittsburgh.
The Pittsburgh Panthers are 1-1 after dropping the opener to UVA 30-14, and winning last week against the Ohio Bobcats 20-10.
This is the first of a two-week stretch against ranked opponents as Pittsburgh faces #17 UCF next week at home after this weekend’s matchup against Penn State.
Pittsburgh has only scored twice on the ground this year, and has averaged just 3.6 yards per carry. They will need to succeed through the air, and that will fall on junior QB Kenny Pickett and the PITT passing attack.
Last season, Penn State beat Pittsburgh 51-6 after current Philadelphia Eagles’ running back Miles Sanders had 118 yards on the ground.
Prediction:
Penn State 38
Pittsburgh 17
