WEEK 1 TNF: PACKERS AT BEARS (-4)

The NFL will begin its 99th season with has been arguably one of the most illustrious rivalries in league history.

The Bears have become one of the upstart team in the NFL after securing the NFC North division title last season behind the stellar play of their stout defense and promising young quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Meanwhile, the Packers have already reshaped their roster this offseason that has seen a couple of familiar faces depart in wide receiver Randall Cobb and outside linebacker Clay Matthews Jr. However, it will all once again be led by Aaron Rodger on the offensive side of the ball while also seeing the official debut of first-year head coach Matt LaFleur.

This will certainly be an entertaining matchup as last year saw the Packers stage a second-half comeback to beat the Bears at Lambeau Field despite Rodgers being hobbled with a significant leg injury. This will be another entertaining meeting that is sure to have plenty of late-game heroics.

WEEK 1 SNF: STEELERS AT PATRIOTS (-6.5)

The defending Super Bowl champions Patriots will get their 2019 season underway with a tough matchup out the gate against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

New England has had some shifting around with their coaching staff along with the retirement of Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski, but the team returning much of the same roster with star quarterback Tom Brady leading the way that should have them on track to compete for yet another Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Steelers have undergone much upheaval over the offseason with the departure of two of their best offensive talents with wideout Antonio Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell. This has also shifted a significant amount of scrutiny on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Nonetheless, whenever the Steelers and Patriots matchup, it’s must-see TV.

WEEK 1: COLTS AT CHARGERS (-3.5)

This is a matchup that features of two of the more impressive teams last season that each made trips to the divisional round of the playoffs.

The Chargers emerged as a legitimate threat in the AFC behind their balanced play on both sides of the ball. Pro Bowl quarterback Phillip Rivers hasn’t shown any decline in his performance as he’s coming off arguably the best season of his career. Meanwhile, running back Melvin Gordon has emerged as one of the most versatile offensive talents in the league.

However, quarterback Andrew Luck made more than a splash in his first season back on the field as he guided the Colts to their first playoffs appearance in four years that earned him Comeback Player of the Year honors.

This will be a duel between both of the league’s premier quarterbacks in what may be an underrated Week 1 matchup.

WEEK 1: CHIEFS (-4.5) AT JAGUARS

The Chiefs were one of the biggest stories in the league last season led by the stellar play of second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who took the NFL by storm with an MVP-winning campaign.

Mahomes has emerged as one of the best talents in the league that has made Kansas City must-watch tv each week along with being a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the AFC. There may have some changes to the roster, but Mahomes has shown he can lead the charge with his rocket arm.

Meanwhile, the Jaguars are coming off a disappointing 2018 season, but have made some significant changes to the roster lead by addition of former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Nick Foles.

This has created a new buzz around the team that already features one of the NFL’s most talented defenses. If Foles is able to do what Blake Bortles wasn’t last year, it could be a huge bounce-back campaign for the Jaguars.

This sets the table for what could one of the more entertaining matchups in Week 1 with two teams ready to prove themselves out of the gate of the 2019 season.
