Your 2019-20 NFL MVP: Carson Wentz!
Philadelphia sports betting fans will like the sound of that, but can it happen? Bettors at FanDuel Sportsbook PA seem to think it’s a great value.
Wentz is currently +1400 odds to win MVP, and has the sixth-shortest odds to win the award. He is behind Patrick Mahomes (+600), Andrew Luck (+900), Aaron Rodgers (+1000), Drew Brees (+1200), and Tom Brady (+1200).

What is interesting is that Deshaun Watson is currently +3400, but has the fourth-most bets. All hands are pointing to Patrick Mahomes winning again at +600, but he does not make the top six in terms of bet leaders.
The Case For Wentz To Win MVP
In 40 career games, Wentz has 10,152 yards, 70 TD, and 28 INT. On average over a 16-game season, that comes out to 4,060 yards, 28 TD, and 11 interceptions. In 2017, he was well on his way to winning the MVP with 3,300 yards and 33 TD in 13 games before getting hurt and missing the rest of the season and the playoffs. Last season, Wentz threw for 3,074 yards and 21 TD in 11 games.
If Wentz can stay healthy after missing eight games in the last two years due to multiple injuries (knee, back), he will be in prime position to be a MVP candidate with a very good offensive line, plenty of weapons on offensive including the additions of DeSean Jackson and Miles Sanders, and a good overall projected team record (Eagles win props are at 9.5 with heavy vig to the over right now).
Is he the best value right now?
Mahomes is the favorite, but 6:1 odds on a player that won in a landslide last season still seems to hold value, and Rodgers, Brees, and Brady all at 10:1 or higher seems like value as well as Watson at 34:1 as well. Ben Roethlisberger is +2900, and Jared Goff is +3200 as well.
Plenty of value to be had in the MVP Futures market!
