Most teams in college basketball are seven games into the season, so the 2019-2020 campaign is still quite young. That means one thing, the futures market for College Basketball betting is still very relevant and there is value to be had. PA sportsbook apps like DraftKings, BetRivers and UNIBET are laser focused on the, but with 2020 around the corner, college basketball betting is set to pop.
Currently, Louisville is #1 in the country, they are followed by Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, UVA, then Ohio Sate to round out the top six. That means North Carolina, Kentucky, Gonzaga, and Duke are all outside the top 5. Oddly enough, each of those four are 6-10 in the latest AP Top 25 poll, just ahead of Michigan State.
It’s the usual suspects through the first few weeks of the season, but this is shaping up to be a fun year in college basketball with some huge upsets already. Villanova has lost twice (Baylor and Ohio State), and sits at 23rd in the country in the latest AP poll.
DraftKings Sportsbook provides a full list of odds to bet on who you think will win the 2020 College Basketball National Championship. Let’s take a look.

Louisville is #1 in the AP Top 25, and is also has the best odds (tied with UNC) to win the title on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Unfortunately, there is only one local team in the top 25 odds to win it all (two if you count Maryland), but the Villanova Wildcats come in at +2500 to win it all, tied for 15th-best odds.
Villanova Odds Movement
Villanova was +2000 a month ago to win the National Championship at DraftKings Sportsbook, and opened at higher than that before the season started. They have dropped to +2500, but with a long season and two of their toughest games on the schedule behind the Wildcats (Ohio State and Baylor), the outlook on the Wildcats’ odds are likely to get lower and lower as the season goes on.
If you were to bet the Wildcats, +2500 to win the National Championship is $25 for every $1 you bet, and with the Villanova schedule set to get easier after the holiday break (DEC 21 against Kansas), the next few weeks would be a great time to pounce on the +2500 odds, or even higher after the Kansas game (assuming it’s a loss).
Upcoming Villanova Schedule
- December 4 vs PENN
- December 7 @ St. Joe’s
- December 14th vs Delaware
- December 21 vs #2 Kansas
- December 30 vs Xavier
As mentioned above, the schedule has two of the toughest games in the past with Ohio State and Baylor, but another one coming up against Kansas will certainly help the odds get better for bettors (assuming a loss). You can expect Villanova to be favored in the next three games, likely running their record to 8-2, which would make their odds lower than +2500, but it may drop if they lose to Kansas. With that being said, Villanova is home on December 21st so anything can happen.
If you want to bet Villanova to win the Final Four, now is the time.
