Parx Online Sportsbook Now Available in Apple App Store

Let the iPhone sports betting app competition in Pennsylvania begin! For roughly 2 weeks there was only one sports-betting app in Pennsylvania on iPhone/iOS as FanDuel Sportsbook ruled that market.

Now, there are two. The Parx Sportsbook App is now available for download in the Apple App Store, making it the fourth book available on the iPhone, but only the second to have an app in the App Store.

Now, this may not sound like big news, but it is very hard to be accepted by Apple in the App Store as a betting/gambling application, especially real-money gaming applications. Apple has a very specific set of conditions surrounding iOS native design and protocols for security purposes.

Parx Sportsbook has officially passed this hurdle, and looks to be well positioned for a strong August when the next PA sports betting revenue reports is published.

Sports Betting App Only (For Now)

This is an obvious tactical advantage in the sports betting market for Parx, as they will have ample opportunity to compete as the only iPhone app that isn’t FanDuel Sportsbook for the time being. Competition is always good for us, the bettors, as now we will have multiple options to search for the best prices and experiences for our PA online sports betting needs.

This new app is only for sports betting, as Parx waits for their online casino to launch in the app store later this year. The only available online casino in PA is the PlaySugarHouse Casino, but even that is not an app. This is a bit of good news for Parx, as they have had to remove some of their games from their online casinos.

Getting their sports-betting product in the Apple Store is good, but eventually Parx will need to get their online casino up and running for Apple users as well, as SugarHouse currently controls that market.
