FanDuel PA Sportsbook Valley Forge

Via a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board meeting back in December, we were given a peek at the 1,800 square foot FanDuel retail sportsbook at the Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia. Fast forward to March 13, 2019, for the grand opening that included local celebrities and the promise of online sports betting in the near future.

The brick/mortar sportsbook has seven betting teller windows, six self-service kiosks, 20 staff members at and seating for up to 30 people. 29 video monitor displays and 2 live sports tickers are also located in the sportsbook. The now classic FanDuel branding coats the walls and adds a feel of professionalism to the sportsbook.

The hours of the FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino Resort are as follows:

Monday-Thursday: 10 a.m. – 1 a.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Saturday: 7 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Sunday: 8 a.m. – 1 a.m.

FanDuel Online Sportsbook PA

First and foremost, if you’re a new player to the FanDuel Sportsbook app or desktop site, you will have an exceptional welcome bonus. FanDuel offers new players a $500 risk-free bet.

Meaning, if a player deposits and amount of money up to $500 and loses, they’ll instantly get their money back into their FanDuel wallet. However, to withdraw that money, you must do a one-time playthrough, which essentially works like this: If you deposit and bet $100 and lose, you can only withdraw that money after you bet another $100.

Once the FanDuel PA app is live, which of course will be branded with Valley Forge Casino, players should expect the same free bet promo from NJ. Getting into the nitty-gritty, FanDuel spares no expense when it comes to their software, with Paddy Power, IGT, and GAN on board as industry leaders. When the FanDuel Valley Forge app and online sportsbook goes live, bettors will see the same product from NJ, with a different logo at the top.

FanDuel Sports Betting Commercials in PA?

Prior to this, it’s safe to assume not a lot of sports bettors knew about the Valley Forge Casio report in King of Prussia. With the launch of the FanDuel online sportsbook in PA, it won’t take for their marketing machine to have an impact. PA residents have quickly come accustomed to seeing ads from NJ Sportsbooks like DraftKings, William Hill and MGM.

Speaking of NJ sports betting, just about 2 hours northeast, FanDuel is also partnered with the Meadowlands Race Track. In the latest NJ sports betting revenue report, FanDuel was the #1 sportsbook brand in NJ.

PA Sports betting revenue has been steady out of the gates, with the assumption that online/mobile will be a major spark once it goes live. The total betting handle for February was $31,500,741.94. This was a small decrease from $32,011,838.76 in January. Sports betting revenue in February compared to January was not great. The February Sports betting revenue was $1,946,816.50. That was a 25% drop from $2,607,215.09 in January 2019.

Boyd + FanDuel + Valley Forge = Success?

Yes, this FanDuel Valley Forge partnership is a bit late to the PA Sports Betting party, but how bad can it be since mobile betting has yet to launch in the state? With serious competition in the state from Parx Sportsbook, Harrah’s Philly, SugarHouse and Rivers Sportsbook, FanDuel Valley Forge will fight for market share.

Back in July of 2018, Boyd Gaming partnered with MGM Resorts, thus creating a potential beast of gambling revenue throughout the United States. Soon after, a mutually beneficial partnership was announced between Boyd Gaming and FanDuel.

Under terms of the agreement, subject to state law and regulatory approvals, Boyd Gaming will establish a presence in the online gaming and sports wagering industry by leveraging FanDuel Group’s technology and related services to operate Boyd Gaming-branded mobile and online sports-betting and gaming services. In turn, FanDuel Group will establish and operate mobile and online sports-betting and gaming services under the FanDuel brand in the states where Boyd Gaming is licensed.

Once the Boyd Gaming/FanDuel agreement was announced, Valley Forge Casino Resort applied for a sports betting license in PA. A $10 million dollar fee, along with a whopping 36% tax on revenue was certainly big hurdles to clear before approval from PGCB. During the final PCGB meeting of 2018, Valley Forge Casino Resort was granted approval to launch their FanDuel branded sportsbook in March 2019.

Philly Sportsbooks

Six retail or brick/mortar sportsbooks are now located in the general Philadelphia area. SugarHouse Casino started the sports betting wave December 2018, followed by Parx Casino, Harrah’s Philadelphia, and the South Philadelphia Turf Club in January. March 2018 brought about the launch of 2 more sportsbooks with Valley Forge in the name. The Valley Forge Turf Club, operated by Parx Sportsbook parent Greenwood Gaming, opened its sportsbook within 24 hours of FanDuel Valley Forge Casino in King of Prussia.

FanDuel Sportsbook at Valley Forge Casino Resort hours of operation:

Friday: 10 a.m. – 2 a.m.
Saturday: 7 a.m. – 2 a.m.
