One of the best parts about seeing the legal sports betting space grow is the birth of new brands to the US gaming industry. PointsBet has certainly become one of the premier brands in the sports betting space in America, and that has allowed it to expand to more states. The latest state for PointsBet is Pennsylvania, where it looks to join a growing list of operators and earn its place amongst the giants.
Let’s take a look at who PointsBet has partnered with in Pennsylvania, the latest PointsBet promo code, which wagers you can place at the sportsbook, and more.
PointsBet PA Partnerships
In order to enter the state of Pennsylvania, PointsBet has partnered with Penn National Gaming to offer their sports betting platform to the state. Via an email press release on March 25, 2021, here’s the details of the partnership.
- 20 year deal.
- PointsBet enters Penn National Gaming states with the deal.
- This means PointsBet can enter the state of Pennsylvania.
Both PNG and PointsBet commented on this move in the press release, included below:
Commenting on the transaction PNG President and Chief Executive Officer Jay Snowden said: “With the addition of Pennsylvania and Mississippi, we are pleased to expand our market access partnership with PointsBet to seven States. We have a great working relationship with the PointsBet team and are thrilled with the performance of our equity stake in the company since inking the original agreement. While we continue to value our equity stake in the company, the release from the disposal restrictions will provide flexibility as we assess our future capital management plans.”
PointsBet Group Chief Executive Officer Sam Swanell said: “We are very excited about adding another two guaranteed online market access points to our portfolio in Pennsylvania and Mississippi. A mature, total addressable sports betting and iGaming market in Pennsylvania is estimated to be over US$1.75 billion per annum. Further, Pennsylvania is home to Philadelphia, the fourth largest media market in the United States, inclusive of southern New Jersey and a regional pillar of the Comcast-NBC Universal asset portfolio. NBC Sports Philadelphia owns the in-game broadcast rights to the Phillies, 76ers, and Flyers covering over 290 live events per year across 4.1 million households.”

Curious on what PointsBetting is? PointsBetting allows you to bet on a specific player or stat, then win (or lose) the amount that stat goes above or below the benchmark. For example, if you were to use Tom Brady’s passing yards as a PointsBetting example:
- Tom Brady Passing Yards – 285
- Unit – $10
- Bet – Over
This means you bet $10 on every yard that Tom Brady goes over or under. If he throws for 300 yards, you will win 15 times your unit ($10), which is $150. If he throws for 270 yards, you will lose $10 for every unit, which is -$150. It is a fun way to wager, especially on props. With that said, it is a risk-reward way to wager.
